My name is Louise and I am a photography addict!
There, I have said it! My passion for photography and image-making began back home in New Zealand when I was given a camera for my tenth birthday and it blossomed at secondary school where I learned many of the technical theories and traditional techniques as well as an appreciation of the role of light in photography.
The many happy hours I spent experimenting with various developing chemicals in the school's labs are now relatively redundant in the modern digital age, but the photographic understanding I gained over those years still serves me well every time I pick up my camera - and it has now been supplemented with a passion for the creative opportunities that the modern world of digital photography puts in front of me.
My priority with each and every photography session, be it a month old baby or a 500 guest wedding, is to set my subjects completely at their ease. By working at their pace, with a fun and friendly style I am able to create wonderfully relaxed images of my subjects.
My preference is to work with natural light where possible, as I believe it allows me create beautiful images quickly and spontaneously without the need for extensive lighting and studio set ups, however I do have the facility to provide extra lighting equipment should the conditions require it.
Training my camera on children and capturing the blossoming of their personalities to provide their parents with memories to treasure forever is one of my favourite aspects of my job.
My style is also especially suited to wedding photography where I am able to blend into the fabric of the day rather than dominating the schedule for a series of formal pastiches.
I also have a passion for dogs and together with my husband, I also run Waggy Tails Photography, which is our specialist dog & pet photography business.
I am conveniently located on the Surrey and London border, with easy access to the capital, it's south & western suburbs and the countryside beyond. I am more than happy to travel further afield however, both throughout the UK and overseas – please contact me to discuss your requirements.
I also hold a clear CRB check.
Arran Sutherland - Arran is my husband and assists me on some shoots as well as helping with the admin, making phone calls, answering emails etc, so you may find yourself speaking to him at some point.
Zeina Nunn - Zeina also assists me at shows and fairs, at client viewings and with marketing promotions. As a working mum with two young children she has a great understanding of what mum's are looking for.
